We had a choice between buying a camping trailer and joining the Freedom Boat Club in Brisbane. Choosing the club was clearly the right decision. We frequently use the boats, and the club managers, Brett and Rosie, are outstanding people. A boat club membership is a great way to even get the kids off their devices and out on the water. Just last weekend, we discovered an amazing sandbar where we parked and spent the day. Such a good day out. If you're considering joining, don't hesitate. We are members in Florida and decided to use a boat on Moreton Bay while we are in Australia. We have owned many boats before joining the club (5 at one time) and since then, have enjoyed the ease of having the choice of boats (often newer than any boat we ever owned) in all of the clubs locations. Brisbane's crew were very welcoming and made our day special. If you are in the area and considering FBC Brisbane, we highly recommend it!

I was very keen on buying a boat but a little reserved in outlaying the capital required. When freedom came up, my first reaction was it was expensive but then I did the numbers. When I took into account maintenance, storage, depreciation, insurance, and the initial outlay that would be tied up in the boat, the cost of the freedom membership was a no brainer. On top of that, I have access to multiple boat types depending on what I want to do for the day, I have no stress of maintenance costs, or repairs and I don't have to spend hours cleaning the boat when I get back.

When you share a boat you do have the chance to take it out, but if it’s a beautiful day and it’s not your turn you can’t. The new boat is a pontoon boat that can fit 12 people on it. So that means we can take out family and friends and celebrate a birthday party or Christmas and so on.
